Chain link fences, also referred to as wire netting, diamond-mesh fences and chain-wire fences, are the most commonly used fence system in the industrial and commercial fence markets. They are a type of woven fence usually constructed from galvanized or coated steel wire. The wires run vertically and are bent into a zig-zag patter. This forms the characteristic diamond pattern seen in this type of fence. 

 

Chain link fences are economical and the open weave style allows for clear vision and sunlight from either side of the fence. However, these fences can be made opaque by inserting slats into the mesh or interweaving ivy into the grid. Chain link fences are also known for their strength and durability.
